The SJRA is currently under review with the Texas Sunset Advisory Commission, a legislative commission tasked with identifying and eliminating waste, duplication, and inefficiency in state agencies.
Commission staff will be evaluating SJRA by hearing from the public and completing their own review before giving policy change recommendations.The Commission then considers the recommendations, hears public testimony, and decides on a collection of changes to bring to the full Legislature for the next legislative session which begins in 2023.
We encourage Montgomery County residents to submit their comments online prior to the hearing, or in person at the sunset review hearing on December 6 & 7, 2022.
