Drought Contingency Plan
At Quadvest, our team is continuously monitoring our water supply to ensure we are prepared for any event including a potential water shortage during a drought. To conserve available water supplies during a drought, we have specific regulations and restrictions in place – please find our Drought Response Stages Trifold here to learn more about the actions we will take to ensure a proper public water supply as required by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality.

How do I know if we are in a drought and how are the stages issued?
Quadvest defines a drought as a long length of time in which the land has a decreased water supply.
This is most commonly from High Consumer Demand. As temperatures rise, neighborhoods use a lot of water for outdoor uses such as watering their yard which causes the water supply to be used up much faster than it is being replenished. Quadvest also closely watches the US Drought Monitor to stay up to date on potential regulatory authority notices on water source levels.

Understanding Drought Water Usage Restrictions
Quadvest’s Drought Response Stages Trifold is a detailed outline of the restrictions in place to conserve and manage our limited water resources effectively. These restrictions aim to reduce water usage and ensure that there is enough water available for essential needs and maintain the health of our environment. There are 5 Water Usage Restriction stages. Quadvest will notify all customers via email and/or phone call whenever a neighborhood is put under a drought stage.
- Stage 1 – Mild (Voluntary)
- Odd Addresses – Monday, Wednesday, & Friday
- Even Addresses – Tuesday, Thursday, & Saturday
- Stage 2 – Moderate (Mandatory)
- Odd Addresses – Monday, Wednesday, & Friday
- Even Addresses – Tuesday, Thursday, & Saturday
- Limited to the hours between 4:00AM until 11:00AM of the morning of designated watering days and between 7:00PM and 12:00AM (midnight) of the evening of designated watering days.
- Stage 3 – Severe (Mandatory)
- Odd Addresses – Wednesday, Friday, & Sunday
- Even Addresses – Tuesday, Thursday, & Saturday
- Limited to the hours between 4:00AM until 10:00AM of the morning of designated watering days and between 8:00PM and 12:00AM (midnight) of the evening of designated watering days.
- Stage 4 – Critical (Mandatory)
- Odd Addresses – Wednesday, Friday, & Sunday
- Even Addresses – Tuesday, Thursday, & Saturday
- Limited to the hours between 4:00AM until 9:00AM of the morning of designated watering days and between 9:00PM and 12:00AM (midnight) of the evening of designated watering days.
- Stage 5 – Emergency (Mandatory)
- ALL outdoor and non-essential uses of water are PROHIBITED.

The following neighborhoods are under Voluntary/Mandatory Water Use Restrictions:
All Quadvest neighborhoods are encouraged to follow the Voluntary Water Restrictions in place under Stage One as of May 1st.

The duration of water restrictions will depend on the severity of the drought and the availability of water resources. Quadvest closely monitors water levels and weather patterns to determine when it’s safe to lift or adjust the restrictions.
Violations & Penalties for Mandatory Restrictions
- First Violation – Issue a Notice of Violation to the customer.
- Second Violation – At its discretion, Quadvest may install a flow restriction device in the line to limit the amount of water that will pass through the meter in a 24-hour period.
- Third Violation – Quadvest may discontinue service at the meter for a period of seven (7) days, or until the end of the calendar month, whichever is less. The normal reconnect fee of Quadvest will apply for the restoration of service.
Quadvest will provide updates via email and/or automated phone calls. This webpage and our social media channels will also be updated regularly.
- Water your yard and other landscaped areas with a handheld hose, a faucet-filled bucket, or a watering can instead of your irrigation system.
- Utilize drip irrigation for plants, shrubs, or trees.
- Limit vehicle washing to using a bucket of water or a hand-held hose with an automatic shut-off when not being utilized. Or use a commercial car wash that recycles water.
- Limit shower times.
- Turn off the running water when brushing your teeth.
- Avoid using water when cleaning off driveways, sidewalks, or streets. Use a broom or blower instead.
- Adjust irrigation heads to ensure they are not wasting water through runoff.
